When calling to make your appointment, you
will be asked if this is a Relaxation Massage or
a Medical Massage.
A Relaxation Massage is any of the services
offered that are payed for 'out of pocket' and
the person making the appointment is
considered a 'client'. The client sets up
a half hour or an hour appointment (or more)
for a partial or full body massage. Depending
on the services chosen.
A Medical Massage is Muscle Therapy
appointments made by the person making the
appointment and has a prescription from their
doctor that insurance is covering the
treatments. The person is now considered a
'patient'. Medical Massage treats specific
issues using medical massage techniques and
is not a full body massage. If the
Doctor prescribes a diagnosis of one body
region, the massage is approximately 30
minutes. If the Doctor prescribes two body
regions, then the appointment is approximately
60 minutes. The treatment sessions are
'outcome' based. Not time based.
Should a 'client' become a 'patient' then the
focus will be on the Medical Massage. No
Relaxation Massages will be done during
the prescribed treatments. Once the Doctors
prescribed treatments are complete, then
Relaxation Massages can resume.
